Ferry to Eastern Bays

The Eastern Bays wrap around Wellington harbour and provide excellent views across the water to Wellington city and provide access to the eastern hills walkways

Spend some time strolling around the upmarket residential streets, exploring the seaside villages of Days Bay and Eastbourne or take the ride or walk out to historic Pencarrow Head, lighthouse and lakes.

The East by West ferry service runs regularly from Queens Wharf, Wellington to the Eastern Bays with some sailings going via Somes Island.

Return transport arrangements for groups of 6+ can be made if you want to stay in Days Bay or Eastbourne for dinner in a seaside cafe and watch a picture perfect sunset.

The Eastern Bays are full of history including ship wrecks like the Wahini or as the subject matter for Katherine Mansfield's 'At the Bay'.

Bike hire to get around is available at the Days Bay ferry terminal or through the Hutt City i-SITE Visitor Centre.

Talk to the Hutt City i-SITE Visitor Centre about a full itinerary for you.
