For a more memorable trip to Wellington, jump aboard the East by West Ferry which departs from Wellington and travels across the harbour to Days Bay and Eastbourne.  The eastern bays are a series of upmarket seaside villages with great cafes, restaurants, galleries and walkways.  You could even stop en route at Matiu/Somes Island in the centre of the Harbour.

In Wairarapa, there are quaint townships to discover, vast rural areas to explore and world-class vineyards which welcome visitors to taste and purchase their wines.

Wellington Waterfront is a public recreation destination in the capital of New Zealand. Here you can spend time in Wellington visiting a museum, learning about our history, eating in our waterfront restaurants, attending events or having fun in a park.

Contact a Hutt Valley i-SITE Visitor Centre to book a tour of the Lord of the Rings locations in the region, the sights of Wellington City, or a wine trail in the Wairarapa.

The Hutt Valley also borders Porirua City which makes up the Wellington region.
